— What is Solid Surface?
— Solid Surface is a non-porous composite material with very high durability and excellent hygienic properties. It is made from minerals, acrylic, and pigments that are pressed under high temperature. Solid Surface can be manufactured with very low tolerances.
— What is the difference between porcelain and Solid Surface?
— Porcelain is clay fired at high temperatures (around 1200°C) and glazed to create a beautiful and durable surface. Unlike Solid Surface and porcelain stoneware, porcelain shrinks during firing, which can lead to variations in final dimensions. These are called tolerances and vary depending on the product size. Washbasins can have tolerances of e.g. +10 mm in width and depth.
— What is porcelain stoneware?
— Porcelain stoneware is a modern, high-tech ceramic material that combines aesthetics, durability, and functionality. It is made from natural minerals that are pressed and fired at very high temperatures (over 1200°C) to create a compact, hard, and non-porous surface—perfect for floors, walls, and facades.
